The XV "Denis Matsuev Presents..." Festival has started in Chelyabinsk

The 15th anniversary of "Denis Matsuev Presents..." festival started in the Prokofiev Hall. The legendary pianist once again gathered a team of outstanding musicians in the Southern Urals, and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, Alexey Texler, presented the maestro with the Ambassador's title of Chelyabinsk as the Cultural Capital of 2027.
"Denis's every festival is a storm. We all exist in this flow of energy, and today we will charm the audience,"
said Maestro Alexei Rubin.
Before the concert, Alexey Texler presented Denis Matsuev with the Chelyabinsk Ambassador's title as the Cultural Capital of 2027.
"This event is not a coincidence. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of culture. However, our win in the federal competition would not have been possible without the support of prominent artists, who supported us during the competition. Denis Leonidovich is one of those individuals who have been by our side," emphasized the Governor.
The governor also noted that the region is preparing an extensive cultural program for next year, in which Denis Matsuev will also take part.
The famous pianist, in turn, praised the artistic growth of the Chelyabinsk Symphony Orchestra, which was established by the governor's decision.
"Every time I see Alexey Leonidovich, I always remember his decision to create an orchestra, which brought Chelyabinsk to a completely different level of culture and instrumental music. The team is growing and becoming a serious team. Alexey Rubin is doing a brilliant job, and he has an amazing connection with the musicians," said Denis Matsuev.
At the same time, the maestro noticed that hundreds of musicians were already cramped on the stage of the Prokofiev Hall.
"My favorite hall doesn't mean 100 people on stage. And I hope that sooner or later a large acoustic concert hall for classical music will appear in Chelyabinsk,
" the pianist hinted.
The Denis Matsuev Presents... festival is taking place from April 8 to 11 with the support of the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region. In keeping with tradition, the project is expanding beyond the regional capital, with concerts also taking place in Miass, Zlatoust, and Ozersk this year.
The festival's program offers a wide range of performances, from orchestral pieces and solo piano evenings to vibrant jazz improvisations. Each day, listeners can expect a unique and diverse concert experience.
